How to activate KCB mobile banking

KCB says you need a mobile number registered for KCB Mobile Banking and a Mobile Banking PIN 1. The page says the USSD service is charged per session 1.

  • Download the KCB App from the App Store or Google Play 1.
  • Enter your registered mobile number and Mobile Banking PIN 1.
  • On an iPhone, dial *522#, choose option 8, My Account, then Activate iPhone App 1.
  • Enter the SMS activation code. KCB says the code is valid for 5 minutes 1.
  • On Android, allow the app to manage phone calls and read the SMS code. The app activates once your number is verified 1.

What you can do with KCB mobile banking

KCB lists transfers to any KCB account or MTN wallet, MTN airtime purchases, balance enquiries and payment of NRA and Jedco bills 1.

Sarah Gune of Access Radio reported on 14 March 2026 that KCB and JEDCO launched electricity token purchase in the KCB app. Customers choose Pay Bills or Utilities, select JEDCO, enter the meter number and amount, and get the token by SMS 2.

Equity Bank and Afriland First Bank

Equity Bank South Sudan's digital banking page lists Equity Online for Business, EazzyNet, EazzyChama, a Self Service Portal, Eazzy Remittance and EazzyFX 3. It does not give sign-up steps. It lists the hotline +211 916 986 000 and the email [email protected] 3. Retail branches open Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 3:00 pm, and Saturday, 8:30 am to 12 pm 3.

Albert Savana of Financial Afrik reported on 1 March 2023 that Afriland First Bank South Sudan signed two agreements with MTN. The bank holds the cash behind MTN mobile money balances in a trust account 4. Its push and pull service lets customers link a bank account to a mobile money wallet 4. The report said the group planned to launch its SARA mobile banking app in 2024 4. This guide could not confirm the launch.

Cards and the payment network

Fox Onyango of Access Radio reported on 24 June 2025 that Co-operative Bank of South Sudan customers can apply for Visa cards on the bank's website or at a branch 5. Amnon Jakony of Access Radio reported on 25 June 2025 that Stanbic Bank South Sudan lets any Visa cardholder withdraw SSP at its ATMs in Juba 6.

Access Radio reported on 10 November 2025 that the central bank's South Sudan Interbank and Settlement System began operating on 10 October 2025 with 13 commercial banks. The bank set 31 January 2026 for all licensed commercial banks to connect 7.

UNCDF reported in April 2023 that Equity Bank, Stanbic, KCB, Cooperative Bank of South Sudan and Ivory Bank owned point-of-sale terminals in the country 9.
